FIFA World Cup 2026 - discussion etc

He only needed 29 minutes for his first WC goal. And it won’t be his last…

There was exactly one guy in the box for Iraq and seven guys not marking him.

This monster’s supporting staff is worse.

Well, he’s such an inconspicuous player, easy to miss…

And they’re all 2m tall.

Man, pretty unhurried attempt by the keeper to clear that.

Monster.

Not a foul? Whoever mentioned physicality being let go is right one.

Any of them in Texas? I’d get them for any Texas game.

Haven’t seen this anywhere reliable, but a clickbait site suggests the plan is for the trophy to be awarded to the winner by the FIFA Peace Prize winner himself.

Then I hope Iran wins.

Defender late to the corner because he was doubling Haaland. Nice goal.

Also should point out it was an example of the “meat wall” tactic that’s been popular in the EPL this year. Mob the keeper and prevent him from coming out to claim the ball.

Iraq-Norway. Every other match still has really high prices.

Ah I see.

Whoever wins, I hope that at least one player of the winning nation will have the guts to flip him off instead of shaking his hand.

ETA: will Trump and Infantino surprisingly dress the captain of the winning team in a Maga hat, like our beloved FIFA boss did with the Qatar leader when they put a bathrobe on Messi?

Family is home, tv is on, expect radio silence from me until about 2.5, 3 hours from now.

Last minute tickets at the Argentina - Algeria game in KC were going for $1300.

I paid like $700 for an Inter Miami game and then Messi got hurt, so that seems reasonable.

Right now it’s 15 minutes before the KC game starts and there’s a huge traffic jam getting into the stadium. People are jumping out of their Ubers and walking.

Thinking of you in the meantime!
