Getting back to OP dumb questions, what is “CONCACAF”? What does it mean, who belongs to it and what does it do?

CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Carribean Association Football) is the Cenral American qualifying body/competition.

**Co** nfederation of **N** orth, **C** entral **A** merican and **C** aribbean **A** ssociation **F** ootball is FIFA’s regional organising body for football in those areas, in the same way that UEFA is Europe’s regional organising body. It covers 38 national associations “from Canada to Surinam”.
