And that opponent has now pulled out of the race and has been suspended, along with Jack Warner. And Blatter has been cleared of knowing anything about it.
Which is all very, very convenient.
An alternative to FIFA should have been formed a long, long time ago. Now it just has to be done.
Though Warner now has threatened to unleash his own allegations about Blatter. Anyway it’s clear that the whole upper echleon of FIFA has no credibilty anymore.
I think UEFA and CONMEBOL should breakaway and form their own international federation as basically most of the corruption seems to be coming from CONACAF, AFC and the CAF. The other countries would be forced to follow them as UEFA and CONMEBOL have the lionshare of the money and the international superstars (at the end of the day basically FIFA needs UEFA and CONMEBOL so much more than they need FIFA).

I was watching BBC news late last night and heard that Jack Warner has put out his own statement on the matter.
Apparently it contains explosive such as Blatter doling out millions for ConCaCaf to do with as it sees fit, quotations that suggest bribery, particularly for the Qatari bid.
All great stuff but I haven’t seen too much in the papers this morning. Expect this to develop over the next 48 hrs.
I suspect Blatter and FIFA in its current form will be toast before the end of the year.
Well Blatter won his farcical election. Good on the British FA rep for trying to delay things at the last moment. Shame on the Blatter crony who slapped him down.
Meanwhile an Australian senator Nick Xenophon is asking that FIFA refund the $46 million Australia spent on bidding in the fixed selection process. I wonder how much of that $46 million went on bribes to FIFA delegates? Obviously not enough.
