BTW there was also an ad that told people to write-in George W Bush for President in 2008 because he was “God’s candidate”. ---

I saw the ad before I saw this thread. I thought “This looks like some interesting scamistry.” I clicked on it. I got the video, I said “nahh, ain’t worth my time”, I got the “don’t go” popup, and left anyway. The ad site in question, in combination with Google, uses tracking cookies to know you’ve been there. Just now, I got an ad that says “Come Back! You need to finish watching this “Slash Your Electric Bill” video now! The “don’t go”/“are you sure”/“click on one or more links before leaving” popups are the _worst_…especially on porn sites. They always hit you right when you’re ah, coming around the corner, as it were. ---

My general policy is the more respected the site, the less I consider their ad content to be reflective of their intent.
