# Fiji Anyone?

Anybody out there been to Fiji? Don’t know too much about it, but I would really like to go there. Unfortunately, everything I can find on the web is trying to charge ridicuous amounts of money and is very “club-med” like.
Does anybody have any tips on how to do it reasonably? Any places that shouldn’t be missed? Any links that could help?
I would really appreciate it…

I’ve been to Fiji!
Except that was 20 years ago, when I was ten.
All I can really remember is: it’s really nice and tropical and quiet; and don’t step on the stonefish.

I’ve never been, but I have friends who have. I’ll have to ask them.
In my experience, travelling is more fun if you don’t plan. Just hit a town and wander aimlessly. I think you get closer to the local people that way, than if you took a tour, stayed in a large hotel, etc.
