I tried one once and it seemed to be soaked in some lemony liquid to hid the awful fishy taste. Not good. Yuck. FOF is the good stuff! (Well, for me anyway.) 😉 ---

I don’t know about Filet O Fish as I despise seafood in any form, even fast food approximations thereof… I’ve absolutely got to agree with this, though. Of all the other forms of fast food I’ve sampled, White Castle has got to be the most vile thing I can imagine. Or, down south, Krystal, which is roughly equivalent as far as I can tell. And yet I have a friend who drove 200 miles solely to eat at White Castle (no, his name is not Harold, nor is it Kumar) because he loves it so much. He also buys those frozen White Castle sliders in the supermarket and claims to have perfected the art of reconstituting them into something close to the original. The whole thing boggles my mind. We’ve got a local burger joint that serves a great double cheeseburger, awesome fries, and a drink of your choice, for 5 bucks. Surely other areas have such things. Don’t understand why someone would go for typical fast food fare unless they’re travelling and don’t know the local places that have much better, just as quick food, for cheaper. :dubious: ---

Count me as another vote in favor of the FoF. One of my favorite fast food sammitches. Filet-o-Fish was created specifically for Lent. It was one of the first deviations McDonald’s made from its hamburger menu. The menu was set in stone up until then. ---

Another “fan” of the FoF. Fan perhaps being too strong a word, but it is the only _fast food_ fish sandwich I can tolerate and it is probably my favorite thing ( very low bar ) at McD. Old ones that have dried out in the bin are dire, however. I have occasionally gotten virtually inedible examples. Back when I worked at said fine dining establishment in the mid-1980’s a half-slice of cheese was indeed standard. I tried a full slice a couple of times and it didn’t work - it upset that delicate balance between cheap cheese, cheap fried fish and cheap tartar sauce :D. ---

I love fish. McDonald’s Filet o’ Fish sandwich is horrible. Burger King’s version is even worse. ---

I guess I’m all alone here, because I like BK fish. Though whenever I order one at the drive thru, I have to go park and wait until they cook it and bring it out to me. I bought some frozen White Castle burgers for my husband and heated them per instructions, and I have seldom seen him become so ill. He was sick for two days. I don’t know what all that was about, but I guess I’m taking frozen White Castle burgers out of rotation. ---
