In the 1973 made-for-tv-movie _Don’t Be Afraid of The Dark_\*, the annoyingly-doe-eyed Kim Darby and guy-on-the-go-like-Guy-Woodhouse Jim Hutton move into a house that harbours these sketchy little puntable things who reside deep down in the bottom of the fireplace. Best part of film - at the very end - a shot from inside the fireplace’s “portal”, aimed up at Jim, who is beaming a flashlight downwards. When he hears Kim’s forlorn voice from its sinister depths, the flashlight slips from his grip and tumbles downward. (Hope it bonked one of those fuckers on the head!) In The Brood (1980), these Hamburlgar-faced little ragamuffins are best seen here @1:04:14 [attacking Robert Reed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VheR9g1zIo). The universally-loved Spewy from a _Get a Life_ episode is technically more an alien (albeit looking like ET after 18 months on krokodil) and thus not quite eligible for the thread, sadly, and neither do those munchkins or whatever from _Wizard of Oz_. \*hey new Rip Van Winkle observation: there was a 2010 remake of DBAOTD on youtube that features all these spidery little whitish thingies that looked too cgi for my liking. Give me cruddy little inverted-butt-faced creatures any day. ---

Shipwreck survivors walk to the interior of an island, are attacked by little red men, run back to the shore, most of the castaways are eaten. Horrible, horrible movie worthy of MST3K treatment. ---
