Films or TV that make you too uncomfortable to watch

Like the OP, i have Curb Your Enthusiasm on my list. It’s not so much that he makes me uncomfortable, though, as that i can’t fucking stand him even when he’s not being a complete jackass. He makes me all stabby.

Possibly the single most uncomfortable episode of a TV show that i’ve ever watched was in (i think) Season 3 or 4 of Six Feet Under, when David gets kidnapped.

Stabby? I could guess, but I’d like to know exactly, please… ?

Family Guy. Like being nibbled to death by unfunny ducks.

Gilligan’s Island

Poor Gilligan. All he was trying to do was help. He can’t help it he’s just extremely clumsy and unlucky. And he WAS flying! Why did the Skipper have to say it was impossible? Why? [sob]

I too dislike stuff with misunderstandings, lies that must be constantly maintained, and so on. I guess it’s a similar buildup of tension, until the inevitable reveal.

Also, expensive stuff getting broken.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Stoid. Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o’clock this afternoon. With nail polish.

Definitely, there are some interviews that are funny (Oliver at Rallies for McCain and Obama and letting them hang themselves with how terrified they were the other side would win), but others are just Cringe-worthy, like Oliver and the stupid “are we gonna heal” during Hillary’s speech was just rude, and pretty much every interview at the RNC except Bee’s little circuit where she tried to get the Republicans to say “choice” with regards to abortion.

For me, it’s North, just… North. For an illustrated guide to why I can’t watch the movie, see here.

Vulgar and Oleanna will not be seen in my house any time soon

The majority of romantic comedies make me want to look away at some point. I get uncomfortable during the inevitable misunderstandings and the climax where one (or both) of the characters has to majorly embarrass themselves or do something ridiculous to prove themselves to the other person.

I still can’t watch Gone With the Wind because all the female characters are constantly shrieking. Drives me from the room every time.

You may joke, but there was an episode with a giant spider that gave me nightmares for years.

I also cannot watch the original Fly due to my giant spider issues.

(Strangely enough, I have no problem with real-life big spiders. It is just when they get to be the relative size of a Volkswagon that it sets me off.)

Oh my God… I was never so horrified by a program ever. I sat through murder after murder on The Sopranos - no problem. David’s kidnapping still terrifies me just reading about it on here.

Well, it helps if you visualize David tying the kidnapper to a table with Saran wrap and plunging a knife into his chest.

Pranks, with the victim’s reactions being secretly filmed. Douchebags, please. Stop. You aren’t funny… One time David Letterman sent Rupert Jee out on the street with a secret ear phone thing, to ask people bizarre questions (that Letterman was relaying to him). He sounded like he wandered off from a mental hospital, it went on and on and ON, and I was beginning to fear for Rupert’s safety…Jaywalking segment on Leno, makes me sad and infuriated in equal parts.

Anyone ever see “The Grifters”?:eek::eek: Anjelica (sp?) Huston was a scumbag in that movie, but what happened to her nearly made me throw up, and to this day I cringe thinking of it…

Any rape scene.

A remember watching ****Jungle Fever ****and having all sorts of contradicory feelings. Any comment I made could’ve sounded racist.

Don’t even walk down the aisle that contains the box for Irreversible, much less actually see it.

Many scenes in **Bruno **were painful or uncomfortable to watch, albeit hilarious.

I like Oleanna ::shrugs::

I’m made uncomfortable for characters I feel bad for more so than subject matter. I could barely finish Never Been Kissed or Dream for an Insomniac. I liked The Shape of Things, but that one has the same sort of painfulness to it.

Two words:

Hard Candy.

Uggghhhhhhh.

I watched the first season of Oz, and while it’s clearly a very good show, I found it difficult to watch that much and couldn’t bring myself to watch any more.

Add me to the list of people who find Curb Your Enthusiasm unbearable. I’m sure it’s good, people I know with good taste like it, but I can’t. Watch it.
