> My first thought for this thread was **Desperado** , and now thinking about it, **From Dusk Till Dawn** comes to mind, both by Robert Rodriguez, who I believe also did the aforementioned segment from Four Rooms, “The Misbehavers”.

_Desperado_ was more of a homage to the late '80s/early '90s Hong Kong action films of John Woo, such as _A Better Tomorrow_, _The Killer_, and _Hard Boiled_.

> Yes, and the words “GUY RITCHIE!” were followed by “a man who would like to be Quentin Tarantino, as evidenced by the following collection of eccentric criminal characters in wacky, violent situations peppered with odd dialogue.” 😉

Well, you have a right to your opinion, but I still have to disagree. I love both movies and I’ve seen each of them countless times and I just don’t see the connection here.

I will suggest again that, if you only seen _Snatch_ once, give it another chance. I promise not to poke fun if you come back and admit how great it is :D.

I seem to remember **2 Days in the Valley** as being rather Tarantino-esque. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it though. That film had a pretty watchable catfight between Charlize Theron & Teri Hatcher…Come to think of it, it might be time to watch it again.

Don’t forget, _Desperado_ was the Hollywood Sequel to _El Mariachi_. Tarantino is obviously a huge fan (and friend) of Rodriguez. He appears in _Desperado_ in addition to starring in _From Dusk to Dawn_. As mentioned, Rodriguez filmed one of the sequences in _Four Rooms_. There’s clearly a mutual admiration thing going on between Tarantino and Rodriguez.
**Cisco** , if you liked Lucy Liu in _Kill Bill_ you might enjoy her in _Payback_, which is, btw, a very violent film.

Ah, I totally forgot about that one. She plays a dominatrix, right? I saw that in the theatre.

“Did _Braveheart_ quit? Did _Payback_ quit?”

They’re such good friends that Rodriguez composed the musical score for Tarantino’s _Kill Bill Vol. 2_ for $1, and in exchange, Tarantino directed one sequence in Rodriguez’s _Sin City_ (Dwight in the car, talking to dead Jackie-Boy), also for $1.

Tarantino told Rodriguez to make his idea into a trilogy, and release the films as far apart as he did, and I believe name them as he did even.

I think he influenced the trilogy.

The chances I’ll see anything else he does are pretty slim. I only saw _Snatch_ because there was a party going on.
