As some of you may remember, there was a So. Cal. Dopefest recently ( [SoCal Dopefest - Spring 2008 - Miscellaneous and Personal Stuff I Must Share - Straight Dope Message Board](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=455705) ) - 27 April 2008 - and I finally got time to put my pictures up and post at the Dope (very busy past couple of weeks.) Enjoy! Pictures here [http://home.earthlink.net/~awinkelried/dopefest/index.html](http://home.earthlink.net/~awinkelried/dopefest/index.html) ---

Oh man, I feel like you deliberately picked out the worst pics of **Stranger** and **xash**. They’re actually both quite hot in real life ladies! ---

No, I just took one picture per person because I’m not much of a shutterbug and I didn’t check them very carefully after I took them. Sorry xash and Stranger! ---

Wow, looks like a ton of fun. Anybody else dead jealous to the whole Dopefest thing? I live where, if I held a dopefest, there’d be only me in attendance, I think!" _Sigh_. ---

**Antinor01** is a good looking fella. And he looks like **iamthewalrus(:3=**'s brother. **The Sonoran Lizard King** looks a lot like my brother. **Silver Tyger Girl** is HAWT, but she looks more like a New England intellectual than a SoCal girl. ---

Good grief, that’s one impressive presentation, what with a webpage, event summary, small and large pictures complete with comments. Techni-color me impressed… and didn’t there used to be a show called Everyone Loves **xash**? ---

I hate pictures of myself, I always end up looking really goofy. Ah well. Great presentation though. 🙂 (And come on, am I really that much more intimidating than say…Silenus?) ---

Okay, **Asimovian** didn’t look a thing like I expected - what, everyone on the internet isn’t a geeky white guy? 😃 I can see how SOAT is a decent looking fellow who got caught in a bad photo. Hey, the same thing happened to me just the day before. [DURRR](http://zerneeak.com/scout/albums/MyFace/retard.sized.jpg) ---
I hate pictures of myself, I always end up looking really goofy. Ah well.
What are you talking about? You’re a cutie! Why are the gay guys always the cute, sweet ones? (That’s an exaggeration of course, I know gentlemenly straight guys. Unfortunately he’s Christian. _sigh_ ) > [@tdn](#): > > Silver Tyger Girl is HAWT, but she looks more like a New England intellectual than a SoCal girl. I think that’s a compliment. I hate the way I smile and I always forget that until I see the photos. ---

Oh and since you mention my webcomic, my one story that’s up is here: [http://silvercat17.livejournal.com/16744.html](http://silvercat17.livejournal.com/16744.html). And yeah, if people would bug me, I’d get more up. ---

Oh man…I looked like a pained snob in my pic. I guess that’s what happens when you’re enjoying great beer (I can tell I was caught letting my swig wash around over my tongue) and watching the Dodgers snatch defeat from the jaws of victory…hence the look of turquoise pallor in my eyes and the perpetual grimace. But the company was top-notch. Thanks for the pic, **AW**. Great to meet you and the rest of the Festers. ---
Maybe it’s just me, but I think my photo should be nominated for worst of the bunch. 😉
At least you don’t look like a narcoleptic on valium. I can’t remember what had me so deep in thought, but I remember feeling the flash through closed eyelids and thinking. “Oh, yeah, that’s going to make a great picture.” Thanks to AW, that’s an awesome presentation, and _He_ didn’t mislabel the photos. ---

Well, shucks, thanks. We should be out there and hopefully settled in by the end of August, but we have so much shit to do between now and then that i can hardly imagine how busy we’ll be. Looking forward to meeting the California crew. [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/finally-my-pictures-from-the-last-so-cal-dopefest/449403.md?page=2)
