The usual suspects are actually afraid that[The money from BP is going to go straight to ACORN](http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_061710/content/01125107.guest.html)

Has anyone told this sack of crap that he and his ilk already destroyed ACORN based on an edited scam job video, even though a congressional committee conceded that the organization had done nothing wrong? I guess they’re counting on their audience being so stupid, that they can scare them with a boogeyman that is not only un-scary, but is also dead.
Oh, and apparently this paragon of virtue is NOT defending BP. No, no. He’s

Because I guess there’s a part of the constitution that says that the president is not allowed to help the citizens. Or ask a company to step up and take responsibility for an environmental disaster. I guess the American “way of life” is to simply say “to hell with small business or people affected by disaster - just don’t piss off big multinationals who caused the disaster”

Jesus! He’s explicitly saying that BP have a **right** to be pissed off because their campaign contributions to Obama did not result in him being bought off.

Why exactly does he have any followers? How can anyone with functioning brain cells approve of this?

The [Republican Study Committee](http://rsc.tomprice.house.gov/) (still not the whole caucus, but [far more than one member](http://rsc.tomprice.house.gov/aboutrsc/memberlist.htm)) had [this](http://rsc.tomprice.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=191125)to say about it:

> “BP’s reported willingness to go along with the White House’s new fund suggests that the Obama Administration is hard at work exerting its brand of Chicago-style shakedown politics. These actions are emblematic of a politicization of our economy that has been borne out of this Administration’s drive for greater power and control. It is the same mentality that believes an economic crisis or an environmental disaster is the best opportunity to pursue a failed liberal agenda. The American people know much better.”

The Republicans you’re defending here simply threw Barton under the bus when they learned how badly their position was received by the Merkin Pipple. That’s the highest principle they exercised, apparently the highest one they understand.

I’d be willing to be convinced, if all the members of the Republican Study Committee, resigned from office. It’s not even quite two thirds of Republican congressmen who signed onto the ‘Obama shakedown’ rhetoric, so after they’re gone, there would still be some Republicans in the house.

Of course, so far no one representing the committee has even issued a retraction, much less apologized for their mischaracterization of the situation, so I’m left to believe that the apology is a lie, and that the vast majority of house Republicans really do support BP over president Obama and all us small Americans.

But then how could they have their cake and eat it too?

This way they can point to the “apology” for everyone who was disgusted by the original comments, and point to the Republican Study Committee for the “base” who need to demonize Obama 24/7.
