You’re right its just a couple of them, its not like ALL Republicans are doing it.
Never turn your back on the family.
Well… good, there is still SOME decency left in the Repuiblican party, lets see if we can bring the republican party back to where it was in the 1960’s
Telling the truth isn’t playing dirty.
OK, apparently I misconstrued his statement, according to his recent non-apology.
I apologize Rep. Barton.
On behalf of the great state of Florida, I feel slighted. :dubious:
South Carolina and Florida have had a lot of crazy shit happen recently, but I don’t know if they’re known for corruption.
Man, get it through your head, the GOP has elevated hypocrisy to levels that had previously been unimagined. These guys would take a dump on the American flag while fellating Tony Hayward if they thought it would help them score some points against Obama.
No way! Maybe fart and chew gum at the same time, maybe! But suck a dick and take a dump at the same time? Fuhgeddaboutit!
I think I see an angle here. BP cannot cover all the cost of this catastrophe. On the one hand, they got the Exxon option: tie it up it court forever, lawyer it to death. In the meantime, sell off assets to friendly corporations, people who will hire them when they are done. Declare bankruptcy, renege on promised payments because, hey! broke is broke!
The the Pubbies scream that Obama broke BP and that’s why they cannot pay, and that’s why taxpayers get stuck with the bill. And they guys who make a million a year working for BP make a million a year working for Whomsoever It May Concern.
BP will cease to exist, but oil is forever.
I think the problem is that the “party of no” and “stay on message” feeling of the Republicans is so ingrained that some of them will just reflexively disagree with whatever Obama does no matter if it is obviously the right thing to do.
If Obama really wanted to take advantage of this, he should send out a memo that says “All Republicans should be prevented without a doubt from lighting themselves on fire.” Just make sure to do it from a safe distance.
The administration may have demanded that BP put $20 billion in escrow now so they can’t plead poverty later. Who knows how much they’re going to have to pay in legal fees, judgments and fines, but $20 billion is not enough to break the company.
But is it enough to pay for the damages?
It’s considerably more than Joe Barton and his carping buddies have scraped together.
I see now that Barton’s sort of apologized. Now he needs to thank Obama for his efforts on behalf of the Gulf’s ‘little people’. Of course he won’t ever do that, because he’s a prick of the first water, as are his colleagues who are pushing the ‘shakedown’ story.
Oh yeah? Then how do you explain Larry Craig?
So, still cherry picking? Need to reconsider your post?
Nah. True American Free Marketeering is all about privatized profits and socialized losses.
Pay attention!
-Joe
I have no idea if $20 billion is enough, Damuri Ajashi. We don’t even know exactly how much oil is getting out of there every day or when they’re finally going to shut the fucking leak down, much less what the economic and environmental fallout will be.
Which is why Joe barton, whatever criticism leveleld against him. ir right. Obama has engaged in little mjore thabn pathetic Chicago-esque bully-boy tactics, and it’s disgusting. The money tossed into the fund must now be watched night and day to make sure the Dems don’t put their greedy mits on it and that it goes to the actual problem, while Obama and his whole staff still have no fucking idea what they’re going to do. meanwhile, it lets BP
Keep in mind that BP is the Left’s friend, not ours. I feel no sympathy for them, but something Democrats seem utterly incapable of comprehending is that the world isn’t binary. People are mixtures of good and evil (but not shades of grey, which is a codeword for “I’m too lazy to pay attention”). So is BP. They have a lot to asnwer for. Obama’s crap, however, has nothing to do with justice.
What are you talking about? Is your hovercraft full of eels again?
So, in the same paragraph claiming that people are “mixtures of good and evil”, you claim Obama is completely unjust? Shit, you people really don’t have any memory of your own hypocrisy huh?
