Has anyone told this sack of crap that he and his ilk already destroyed ACORN based on an edited scam job video, even though a congressional committee conceded that the organization had done nothing wrong? I guess they’re counting on their audience being so stupid, that they can scare them with a boogeyman that is not only un-scary, but is also dead.
Oh, and apparently this paragon of virtue is NOT defending BP. No, no. He’s
Because I guess there’s a part of the constitution that says that the president is not allowed to help the citizens. Or ask a company to step up and take responsibility for an environmental disaster. I guess the American “way of life” is to simply say “to hell with small business or people affected by disaster - just don’t piss off big multinationals who caused the disaster”
Jesus! He’s explicitly saying that BP have a right to be pissed off because their campaign contributions to Obama did not result in him being bought off.

“You’re supposed to have bought insurance” *
Why exactly does he have any followers? How can anyone with functioning brain cells approve of this?
Ben Stein was on CNN saying it over and over. He , like all righties on TV, repeated it over and over and tried to drown out the other speakers. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201006170026 Here’s Rush trying to blame Obama for strong arming the poor defenseless BP.
The Republicans you’re defending here simply threw Barton under the bus when they learned how badly their position was received by the Merkin Pipple. That’s the highest principle they exercised, apparently the highest one they understand.
Guess he never heard the old Texas saying: "If you can’t take their money, drink their whiskey, screw their women, and vote against 'em anyway, you don’t belong in the Legislature.”
I’d be willing to be convinced, if all the members of the Republican Study Committee, resigned from office. It’s not even quite two thirds of Republican congressmen who signed onto the ‘Obama shakedown’ rhetoric, so after they’re gone, there would still be some Republicans in the house.
Of course, so far no one representing the committee has even issued a retraction, much less apologized for their mischaracterization of the situation, so I’m left to believe that the apology is a lie, and that the vast majority of house Republicans really do support BP over president Obama and all us small Americans.
I don’t want a retraction or even an apology, much less a resignation. I’d just like to see a few of them (looking at you, Congressman Miller) say, “I strongly disagree with my fellow committee members on this issue”.
But then how could they have their cake and eat it too?
This way they can point to the “apology” for everyone who was disgusted by the original comments, and point to the Republican Study Committee for the “base” who need to demonize Obama 24/7.
I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I was about to offer up a post in praise of Miller, until I happened to glance at the RSC membership list and realized he was on it. :smack:
