# Find piercing's sexy? Not me! (girl's ears are ok)

Last night I was watching ‘Grumpy old men’ (not the film with walther mathow (sp?) but a sort of documentary on grumpiness and the falldown of society). One of the subjects was excessive or unusual piercings (i.e. everywhere except the ears of females)
I found myself agreeing with them. Otherwise attractive girls are made downright ugly with those nose studs which just look like giant zits. The eybrow rings are unatractive too. And I agree with the theory that intelligence is inversely proportional to the number of piercings.
Does anyone actually find them sexy??

No. Nor tattoos… or hair colors that don’t occur in nature… or that Goth look with the dead white skin and the black lipstick.
As for ears… I’ve cut myself on girls’ earrings while trying to be affectionate, so I’m not a big fan of those, either.

I don’t think the dead white skin “look” is intentional, or is it? Maybe it’s just enhanced by the black clothing, lipstick, etc…
The whole Goth look can be sexy if done right, IMO anyway.

…Oh and yeah, I do find navel rings sexy on women, however not in other locations. Or multiple earings in one spot (Catherine Manheim?). Tattoos too, keep it limited.

Any piercing except earlobe is a giant turn-off for me. Wrost are tongue and eye brow.

I find it repulsive to the point of nauseating, particularly in food service people. The thought of all those oozing sores and hepatitis infections makes me walk right back out the door. Multiple ear piercings are equally disgusting.

All piercings eventually get in the way, and the only ones that look even the slightest bit attractive are ear piercings. Anywhere else…just seems to interrupt the natural beauty of the female body. Same with tattoos.

Ears and tongues are OK, but anything else turns me off. Kinda strange, because back in the 70’s, I pierced my cheek, and had a chain from there to my ear. It was a rebellion thing, I guess. But I hate seeing otherwise beautiful women scarring themselves. Christina Aguilera _used_ to be hot, but now she’s got a booger on her nose, and another one on her lower lip. It may be a diamond, but it still looks like a booger to me.

Ears, yes. Navels, yes. Anywhere else, no. No on tattoos anywhere. When I was growing up, the object of life was to leave it with the same number of holes you started with.

My girlfriend has a very small stud in her nose, and i love it. I’m not so keen on nose rings that are so big they should be used for leading a bull around the ring, but i generally think a nose piercing is pretty sexy.
Tongue piercings i can take or leave. Navel is quite sexy. Eyebrow piercing can look good if it well done, but it too often looks uncomfortable. Multiple ear piercing is fine. The only piercings i find unattractive are in the chin and lower lip area.
I quite like some tattoos, on men and women, but they’re so common nowdays that they’ve become a bit passe. And any fashion statement that can’t be easily altered (or covered up) is a bit of a risk, IMO.

It could be that the goth look can look ok, or it could be that some girls are beautiful enough to still look attractive in the goth black and purple rags. The goth thing bugs me in principle (I can’t help thinking they are doing it only for the sake of being different, because if they are different they are ‘special’) I usually look sideways (as if I have just witnesed a guy with a trafic cone on his head) but there’s at least one goth girl who causes me to stare admiringly.

I think nipple piercings are sexy, but then again, by the time you’re allowed to view them, the sex quotient is already elevated, so maybe it’s a conditioned response.

Or… it could be that they dress that way because they _like the look_. Just because you personally don’t care for the style doesn’t mean that everyone else finds it unattractive as well.

I find piercings and tattoos to be extremely sexy on other women. I also love the unnatural hair colours. They are a big turn on _for me_. For some reason I prefer men without piercings. But give me a goth/indie rock girl, any day.
I have one tattoo, and three ear piercings. Hair dye is a hassle so I stick to admiring that from afar, mostly. I do want more tattoos but further piercings I could take or leave. I do not find that among the people I associate with body modification is done merely for attention seeking purposes. Nor am I attracted to people who are only dressing/ornamenting their body for attention. What is attractive is women who choose to look however they look because that is what they want, and it pleases them to look that way.

The poor kids today have an awful standard to live up to, rebellion-wise. Most of their parents grew up in the 60’s, which raised the art of defiance of authority to all-time levels. These days nothing shocks me, and I find myself laughing at their pathetic efforts. I hope they have a lot of pictures taken so they can see how silly they looked as teenagers.

Quite possible (although most people I know into the goth look find it aesthetically appealing), but there’s a difference between “wanting their dress to get them attention” and “feeling they’re ‘special’ if they dress differently”. The second one just sounds damn condescending to me.
[sub]And yes, I’m aware that there _are_ going to be people out there that DO fit the “I’ll be special!” attitude. But to paint _everyone_ who dresses in the style with that brush isn’t very nice.[/sub]

I’m not a goth, but I have to admit, I love the Victorian goth look-the velvety dresses with batwing sleeves and the dark jewel tones.
I don’t think I could pull it off very well, though.

I see on re-reading that ear-piercings were given an exemption, though since mine are cartilage piercings, that may make me a half-wit.
