# Finding fittings for Kirsch mini-blinds

I committed a serious blunder when washing mini-blinds for a customer, an old friend of mine: Washing the blinds in the bathtub (as the customer requested), I pushed down on the top of the blind, resting on the edge of the bathtub, to stand up; in so doing I broke the little plastic hook that you hang a long plastic rod on; the rod is twirled to adjust the angle of the blades.  
I phoned Kirsch, however, and they say their mini-blind units are imported, as whole packages, and replacement parts are not available.  
What can I do to make amends for my customer, short of shelling out money to replace the entire blind?
