(Edit: replying to pkbites) Did you read the OP? He swore to his therapist and then-wife that he wouldn’t buy a gun (due to having severe depression and anger issues) and then apparently went and did it. She is cleaning out his crap from her place and found gun-related stuff. So either he merely bought 3000 rounds of ammo and a night scope for a pistol just because, or he has/had a gun to go with them.
Listen, I personally don’t give a shit if an average person has a gun. The person being described in the OP, per his therapist’s judgement, really shouldn’t have a gun.
Why not get a restraining order for you and your child against your ex-husband stating the reason is that you believe
your ex has a gun and under certain circumstance could use said gun if?

Then he would be forced to admit if he has a gun or not.
