I know that somewhere recently I read that there is a website where you can play a snippet of a song, and it will tell you the title and artist of the song. I can’t imagine I read it anywhere but here (unless it was a dream!), and of course the search function is down. My husband has a bunch of music on his iPod from a friend that is untitled and he’d love to know what it is. I thought I’d try that if it’s a real thing, but can’t find anything about it now.

You could try [MusicBrainz](http://musicbrainz.org/), I haven’t used it myself but have heard good things from others who have.

Or not, depending where you are in the world.
