# Finding statistics and other info about websites.

Is there a way for me to get a general idea of how many hits a website gets and who they use as a host if they don’t display the information outright? For instance, I wanted to get that info about [www.savethehumans.com](http://www.savethehumans.com) but didn’t find it in a counter or a “hosted by.” BTW, chime in if you’ve heard of it.

Is the referral URL necessarily the hosting service or just the place where the domain was registered? I just did a whois on a site whose hosting service I know, but the domain registration site came up. Thanks for the link.
