The [1950 U.S. Census](https://1950census.archives.gov/) is now searchable by the public. Some of the people I’ve been able to find include: [Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower (ED 31-1051)](https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?name=dwight%20eisenhower&page=1&size=100) [Elvis Presley (ED 98-4)](https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?name=vernon%20presley&page=1&size=100&state=TN) [President Biden (ED 79-239)](https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?county=Scranton%2C%20Lackawanna&name=biden&page=1&size=100&state=PA) Let’s see who else we can find. ---

You got [Elvis](https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?county=Memphis%2C%20Shelby&name=Pressley%20Verman&page=1&size=100&state=TN) wrong. Elvis was 15 in 1950 and living in Memphis. ---

I was able to find myself, at about 8 months old. The house we were living in at the time is no longer there. ---

I have been stymied by my lack of knowledge of the Enumeration District number, which seems to be the key to finding people. Is there a cross-reference from address to ED somewhere? ---

I tried unsuccessfully to find John F Kennedy. He would have been 33 years old and living in Boston but the name “John Kennedy” is perhaps too common. On the other hand, [here](https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?name=isaac%20asimov&page=1) is Isaac Asimov with his first wife Gertrude in Somerville MA. And Frank Sinatra was easy to find. ---

My grandparents, uncle, and mother are [here](https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?county=Kings&name=Walter%20Roman&page=1&size=100&state=NY), along with my great-grandparents and great-uncle (I guess I sort of knew they were living in the same building, but it also looks like my grandparents had an older Polish lady boarding with them, who was a complete surprise. I wonder if my mom remembers her?)
