In [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=572106) asking people to tell me about stuff that people always seem to complain about but which never happens to them, Acantha posted that she has “had more bizarre one in a million experiences than most people I know”. I’m curious and nosy and I want to hear about it.
Tell me some crazy, unexpected, unusual, or unbelievable things that have happened to you that you are reasonably certain have never happened to anybody else here?
I’ll go first. I must be the only person here who has ever been kidnapped (by a non-family member; I’m pretty sure I’ve heard of family abductions here).

I’m probably the only person here who takes both the Illuminati Conspiracy theory, Christian Reconstruction & Anglo-Israelism somewhat seriously (as in- I don’t think they’re total B.S. tho I’ll admit there is a lot of B.S. connected with all three).

On a similar note: I must be the only person here both of whose in-laws were kidnapped (one by a family member, one not).

…has stood in the winner’s circle for a major (Grade 1 stakes) horse racing win.
(No, it wasn’t my horse. Sadly. He was owned by a friend and she invited us to join them.)
Heh, actually, because of that horse I can add:
…was bitten by a $2,000,000 horse, although he just grabbed my sweater playfully and tugged. The owner told me to smack him on the nose to tell him to let go. I was aghast–I wasn’t hitting a $2,000,000 horse!
…has been in the elite Director’s Room at two major horse racing tracks. I felt _very_ out of place, but the AWESOME! food made up for it in a hurry.

Has spent about a year (cumulative, over several separate visits) vacationing in Europe, yet never set foot in England, France or Italy…
(I have nothing against England, France or Italy and hope to visit all three eventually—It just never worked out, despite spending months within a hundred miles of each country)
Italy is on the top of the list for my next visit, whenever that may be.
