Why do the moderators keep letting Finn Again derail debates on Israel and not step in to moderate until someone engages him? What’s even worse is they place blame equally on all parties when Finn Again is obviously the one derailing the thread. I have posted to ATMB to ask why moderators seem to treat Finn Again with kid gloves time and again: [http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=12531918#post12531918](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=12531918#post12531918) Is there something about Finn Again I need to know? Do we all have to be nice to him because he is retarded (it would explain a lot). Does Finn Again have pictures of these moderators cheating on their spouses or something? Is their reaction colored by their personal views on israel? What explains this discrepancy? Am I the only one that has problems with Finn Again and the way moderators treat him? ---

The issue is this - that ‘arguing in a nasty manner’, such as (example purely picked out of my ass) endlessly quibbling over the meaning of the word “is”, _won’t_ get you warned by the mods - unless it is derailing the thread/off topic; in which case, you’ll be told to stop doing it. OTOH, ‘stating that the person you are arguing with is a jerk’ _will_ get you warned by the mods if it’s ouside the Pit - particularly if you keep doing it after being told not to. This may _feel_ totally unfair, but that’s the way it has to be. Persons have to be (more or less) kept from abuse, but not arguments. ---

As I read the OP, it is a complaint about moderation. Those go in ATMB. Therefore I am closing this thread. If I have misunderstood the OP and it really is a pitting, please PM or email me and I will reopen this thread.
