OK, finally watched this, and my first comment is, why the hell did they not show this first? It’s really really good TV and certainly better than the one they did show as the pilot. “I curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!” Yes, this is a Joss Whedon show all right. Terrific amounts of character development, with the possible exception of Inara. Lots of people hate Book now and I can’t help but think they’d have a different attitude if they saw him in the pilot. Surprisingly moving scene for him. Lots of action (The Crazy Ivan sequence is spectacular), lots of funny, lots of tension. Fox clearly does not want this show to succeed. ---

I dunno, look at Angel last night. It’s comparable, and easily trimmable. ---

Just popping in to say that Neilsen is dumb. At least in Canada. Where I live, you can’t get a Neilsen box if you rent, or if you’ve moved in the past 5 years. Um. Hello! Networks! That just wiped out 90% of your target audience of 18-35 year olds! And I’m now staying home Fridays to watch Firefly. This show is good. ---
