# "Firefly" reruns airing on the Scifi Channel this summer

According to [fireflyfans.net](http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=10207), Sci-Fi picked up the airing rights to Firefly and will be airing all fifteen hours of the show in the United States, starting on Friday, July 22. 🙂 I remember someone saying that Fox had decided to prevent airing of the show for ten years, but that’s obviously not the case anymore. Either way, it should be a good way to bring in new viewers before “Serenity” comes out, especially if they air the episodes in order, starting with the pilot, this time. 🙂

Cool. That makes a lot of sense as a lead-in to the opening of the film, Friday night in this case is a good choice as that is apparently Sci-fi’s strongest night, and no matter what the result, it’s great that the show will get a US broadcast run again, one hopes in the correct episode order. Maybe only stay-at-home nerds who already know of the show will watch it, but whatever.

If you’re talking about a thread here, what I recall being said was that FOX owned the rights to create new eps for ten years. Nothing about FOX having broadcast rights.

I feel that this is an incredibly good sign that maybe, just maybe, there’s enough buzz about the series that it’ll get picked up again by SciFi. Shiny.
