Okay, this is driving me up the effing wall! So my firefox appears to be broken. Somehow, somewhere I did something that made it mad, so now it makes me login to Facebook and the SDMB, even though I am pretty sure I have it set to remember cookies. I do remember once having it set to ask me every time I closed Firefox if I wanted to clear private data. I’d normally click “no.” So now here’s my settings in the “Privacy” area of preferences: under History, everything is checked under cookies, everything is checked under Private data Always clear my private data when I close Firefox (not checked) Ask me before clearing private data (checked) Under Security: Remember Passwords for sites (checked) So I feel like I am doing everything right from that end. I am guessing it’s something in my about:config that is messed up. Does anyone here know anything about where I should look there? I’d rather not have to erase everything to get it working right. BTW I’m using Firefox 3. ---

For the field that says keep cookies until, what do you have selected? ---

Just to be clear: do you mean that it logs you out after a short period of time, or that it simply doesn’t remember the password for you? Check that both websites are not entered under “Exceptions” in both the security and privacy/cookies sections.
