I have no statistics to back this up but I wager a high percentage of all these annual fireworks deaths, injuries, structure fires and wildfires occur during this specific two week stretch centered around the fourth of July.
Maybe the only comparative destructive holiday would be drunk driving accidents and deaths around New Year’s Day.
I do not know the answer but I do think it is a serious nationwide problem during these two weeks. I look at all these accidents and deaths, many involving children, all the homes damaged and destroyed, and I wonder why we do not make a bigger deal out of prevention. Indeed, how many of these incidents would I even know about except for actively scanning the internet and finding them myself. And the completely unreported injuries and fires surely must be much much higher.
