# First Anniversary present?

Our first wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks. We’re considering a sail on [_Hawaiian Chieftain_](http://historicalseaport.org/about-us/our-vessels/hawaiian-chieftain/) next weekend, and dinner on our anniversary at the place we ate after the ceremony.

But what would be a good gift for Mrs. L.A.?

The first anniversary is traditionally paper. I suggest a certificate of deposit or T-bill.

Ha! How about a lottery ticket? 😛

As for eating, Mrs. L.A. decided she didn’t want to go to the place we went to last year. She’d rather go to another place in town that we haven’t been to in a while, and which has a better atmosphere.

I went on [Fiverr.com](http://Fiverr.com) and got an artist to turn our wedding portrait into Tim Burton characters (because we love us some Tim Burton) - there are also artists who will draw you as superheroes, simpsons type characters, pop art figures if you are more into that. It did cost more than 5 dollars. I had it printed into a poster and framed.
