# First Annual SDMB Fantasy Football Guillotine League - Cecil’s Chopping Block

I’ve been thinking about best ball options for a suicide league and my conclusion is that there are none.

The one I mentioned before is the commissioner retrofitting rosters so that your starting lineup contains the highest scores. But there are two big problems with this. One is that it’s a lot of work for the commissioner. The other is that seeing yahoo’s real-time score between you and the lowest score is the killer feature which would not exist if the commissioner were backfilling best ball results.

Another idea I had recently is to not have a bench. If every player starts, then by definition all lineups are best ball. But having no bench creates its own problems. Bye weeks and injuries, mainly.

So my conclusion is that best ball just isn’t a viable option for a suicide league on Yahoo unless Yahoo adds the feature officially.

I really just want to be able to go back and look at weekly scores - you can fudge through it messing with URLs, but it’s pretty bad.

You and me both. I haven’t figured out a good method that will show you each week’s final standings.
