She was the first in the hospital, but hung on a little longer. It was apparent she was ready to go, and we all got to have a window where she was lucid enough to talk with us. Two lives well lived. ---

**P-man** , I am so sorry. Both of my folks are gone, but there was seven years between the passings. I can’t imagine how hard to have your parents go so close together. Nothing I can say will make things better, but keep _yourself_ healthy now, eat well and sleep enough. You will need strength. ---

I think the way they went was pretty close to what they would have chosen. Dad was always very active, and it was hard for him being to weak to move around much. Mom would have been dependent on others for her care, which I knew she didn’t want. As much as we’ll be grieving, the both went out on their terms. ---

Going close together happens a lot with couples who’ve been together a long time, that and eking out one more birthday or Christmas. Still sux for the left-behind. Sorry for your loss. ---

My father took care of my mother up until the day he just wasn’t able to. And looking back, while there were things that we could have done differently, I am not sure they would have done so or wanted to. My condolences. It’s not easy. ---
