# First day back at work

A year after being laid off, I’m back in the workforce starting today. Good thing I had some savings to get through this! It’s not my ideal job but at least it’s an income.

Works both ways though, I took eighteen months off (voluntarily) and went back to work about two months ago. And just the routine of going to work, the excitement and learning of a new job, and adult conversations gave me new energy - at least for the first few months.

(Its now December and cold and maybe I don’t want to get out of bed in the mornings anymore).
