I see that I haven’t logged on or posted a message in four years (wow!), but I subscribed, just to get that charter member thing under my name. Such a deal at 5 bucks. ---

I’m still interested to see how the predictive models stand up to reality. ---

The 70 per day is an anomaly anyway. In 2003 new members joined at a rate of 38 per day. In 2002 new members joined at a rate of 27 per day. ---

It’s mostly vanity driving people to this Board. Think about how the SDMB would explode if the administrators introduced titles for posters that get funkier the higher your post count is. I registered today, and I surely benefit from the dollar’s current weakness. The $4.95 worked out to charge my PayPal account (specially registered for this purpose) only 4.22 euros. Hah! (Strategic registration timing, folks, that’s it) ---

I am counting the SDSAB folks together with the Charter Members – AFAIK, virtually all the SDSAB are paid up. Even if a few Advisory Board people are getting comped, the figures aren’t skewed much anyway. ---

I wonder how many people have subscribed but not posted since, and so their status is not yet showing up as “Charter Member”? Could skew the figures somewhat. ---

This morning’s count (0920 CDT): **2,687** w/o SDSAB \*\*2,706 \*\* with SDSAB … I’m torn as to whether to coung SDSAB or not. I know some of them have, in fact, paid. The easiest solution, ISTM, is just to give a dual count. ---

Well, this is my first post since I signed up. It hadn’t occurred to me that my status didn’t automatically change. And I don’t really care about my status. I’ve been too busy to visit much and wouldn’t have signed up if I hadn’t gotten the email. I can’t be the only one. ---

This afternoon’s count (1610 CDT): **2,705** without the SDSAB \*\*2,724 \*\* counting the SDSAB … **Kabbes** , at current pace, 2,800 should be eclipsed sometime over the weekend. I think we still have a significant “procrastinators’ effect” to consider as well. 295 away from 3,000! 😃 ---

I’ve been tracking subscription data (as have others, as seen in this thread) and just found out that if you’ve paid, you’ll show up as a Charter Member in the Forum Leaders page, whether you’ve posted since paying or not. In fact, there is at least one Charter Member with 0 posts to his/her name. I don’t know if your new title shows up in thread views without posting, though. ---
