I can’t work out if \*\* buchanan\*\*'s problem is the kiss, or the discomfort. If the latter I think we should be more tolerant: it would seem to indicate s/he’s working on it. ---

Really? “Some men fall in love with other men, and some women fall in love with other women.” That’s pretty much how my mom explained it to me, and my reaction was “oh, okay.” I agree with **Chimera** , I’d be more uncomfortable trying to explain to them why some people have a problem with this. I’m very happy about this, even more so because I do know gay military men AND women who have had to walk on eggshells for the last decade or so. DADT was beyond dumb, and I’m glad that particular axe isn’t hanging over them any longer. But ease up on Buchanan; it’s likely not as big problem as he he thinks it is, but it IS something relatively new thrown into the parenting equation, which is already very individually intricate. ---
