Kosher bacon?
Yeah - some of the other examples are weird patchworks of one thing or the other (+Laburnocytisus for example) - and yet others are mixed very finely to the extent that they appear intermediate to the graft parents - that is, they look and behave, macroscopically a bit like a sexual hybrid (+Crataegomespilus, for example, which is a graft hybrid of hawthorn and medlar, and has leaves, flowers and fruits that are like a cross between the two)
IIRC, the extent to which the tissues mingle is dependent on the way they would differentiate in the single parent species - growing tissues are programmed to grow on top of others or underneath them - which in a non-chimaeric organism, results in the structures of the organs and their arrangement, but in a chimaera formed from two different species, there are two sets of different differentiation priorities in competition with one another. It’s possible that a man-pig could be a horrific deformed monster for this reason.
Syfy channel movie!
Anyway, why does it have to be a Man-Pig. Can’t we have a Girl-Pig instead?
(I’m not the only one that preferred her with the snout and ears, right?)
No? Just me then. Oops. Probably shouldn’t have admitted that.
