I’m going to go.out on a limb and suggest the actual cases to reported cases ratio is very different in Texas and Ontario.
Measles (or COVID) don’t exist if you (government really) pretend hard enough that they don’t. No matter how many people are dying.
The state of Texas seems to want good numbers, though, for itself if not for the sake of the nation at large.
While it may still play a part, I would rather suspect the difference in healthcare systems might play a larger role in whether or not people seek professional care, even if both outbreaks involved Mennonite communities. In Texas, they already largely eschew the public health system, which is the primary way cases get reported. Officials can’t get accurate case counts if the afflicted actively avoid them. I would hazard a guess the antipathy towards hospitals and the public health system is less true in Canada.
Catchy. But the chamber of commerce types probably won’t want to use “The Measles Centre of the Western Hemisphere” as a provincial slogan instead of “Yours To Discover”.

What an infuriating situation. Why those two haven’t had their licenses revoked is beyond me.
Maybe I’m mistaken, of course, but a quite simple solution seems to have been overlooked.
Make it clear there is not enough vaccine for everyone who wants it. Then announce areas with low uptake for vaccines will be last to receive supply, should it hold out.
And, just like that, EVERYONE is loudly screaming about how they are being excluded.
Demand would sky rocket I think. Just a thought.
Or just stop it with religious exemptions. We don’t offer religious exemptions for individual income tax or traffic laws or building codes: why do so for vaccines?
Don’t give them ideas. It’s bad enough in regards to medicine, pharmacists, and insurance.

Some truly amazing news! I had expected because of the massive anti-vax sentiment among MAGA, Texas, Robert Kennedy, etc that cases would explode:
Health officials have not confirmed a new case in the affected counties in more than 42 days, passing the threshold used to declare measles outbreaks over. The last outbreak-related case in Texas was on July 1, according to state data.
Gather no data and no cases will ye find.
