I know, I called you a scientist once, and even said you were doing a good job. mea Culpa.
 The question of how to fix it was solved early on (hint: contact your employer, which you did. The only outstanding question is whether you’ll admit you done fucked up (hint: say, “oops, not the government’s fault, my bad,” which you didn’t).
The car thing is stupid. You’re not in any danger here; a paycheck was screwed up. If you wanted to, you could almost certainly push to get the money now instead of in the next paycheck cycle, although you may not want to be so assertive this early at a new job.
If you were in serious trouble, responses would be different–although if knowing whom to blame was important, people would still correct your errors. If you’re lying on the ground saying, “A cop car just hit me, call the ACLU!” and we all saw that it was a pizza delivery car, we might explain why calling the ACLU was inappropriate.
Some of us would nash our teeth and pull out our hair over the loss of a fine tax paying citizen. Yet another deadbeat sucking up SSI money …
I am a scientist, and I am doing a good job. So those posts would be exceptions.
You really are quite astonishingly stupid.
Why is it your default position to believe him? He’s obviously wrong; the government didn’t steal/keep his money. What else is he telling tales about?
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
Idiot.
Well yes, that’s a good point. However, everything you say is obnoxiously wrong and stupid. So we’ve got his obviously incorrect claim against your obviously stupid doubt. Immovable object, irresistible force, etc.
Show some respect; he’s your father, for christs sakes.
[“On rethinking, I felt a semicolon was better than a comma.”]
Not sure why you left the other comma in place and you forgot the possessive apostrophe. I’ll go ahead and guess you’re being snarky by not capitalizing the proper noun, but I will point out it makes you look like a major Bundy supporter and that whole sovereign citizen cult. Now get back to work and pay my fair share of the tax load …
The perspective this link provided was very helpful; thank you for that.
One thing toiler regarding insurance premiums…they are typically collected a month in advance. If one starts work early in the month, they could be paying two months of premiums immediately. One month catch up, and the subsequent month in advance. Just a thought.
Now I feel like Luke Skywalker…
I use “christs sakes” as a standalone phrase. As an atheist, blah, blah, blah. The comma helps separate “father” and “christ”, which I think helps avoid confusion.
Kind of the vibe I was going for.
[sigh] … Stan da’Lone … capital letters please …
I have been thinking about suggesting that Chessic charge into his payroll office and demand money (or better yet just steal the money) and tell them that he’s allowed to do so because he is their “better.”
However, that scenario leaves out his racism that was so well on display in the Metro incident, so I’m not sure my suggestion is worth it.
Well, he could borrow from another thread he started and just say they are bitches he wouldn’t mind seeing assaulted. That one is a real charm offensive.
Tax refund.
