Well, we’re certainly making a name for ourselves up here in the not-so-frozen north. A few weeks ago we had our very own Lorena Bobbit wannabe chopping off her uncle’s dick because he refused to leave his wife for her. Today, we’re treated to the [news](http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/6236863p-6111960c.html) of a _six-year old boy_ being accused of sodomizing another six-year old. The alleged victim’s parents are, of course, suing the school district, which is becoming the state pastime. Is it even possible for a six year old to sodomize another person? What in the hell has this kid been exposed to that he would even have such a concept in his barely formed brain? It would seem that social services ought to be investigating this kid’s homelife. The parents are claiming they didn’t want to sue, but their choice of one of the bigger ambulance chasers in the state belies it. I’m just appalled at the entire thing. The entire notion of sex was a mystery to me until puberty. The notion of sodomy didn’t enter my head until much later than that, even. _How the fuck does a six year old get this into his head?_ FUCK! ---

Not defending, justifying or attempting to minimise it in any way, but does “sodomy” in this instance necessarily cover anal penetration {which I can’t see being physically possible for a six year old} - I know the legal definition varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and “sodomy” may not require actual buggery. ---

Further to the analysis (wow, that word seems wrong)…does the definition of ‘sodomy’ exclusively involve sexual organs? In plain English, you can be sodomised by anything of suitable length & girth… On the other hand, it’s not impossible for sexual behaviour to appear in such young children - and of course, they’re the least able to deal with it. ---

Sadly, when this kind of thing happens it often turns out that the child in the aggressor role has himself been the victim of sexual abuse at the hands of an adult. They get the idea from their own experience. ---

Well, even babies get erections, so the child would have been physically capable of rape. However, the definition of sodomy does include oral sex, so that could have been the case, and as Gorilla Man mentioned, can also include penetration by an object, and not necessarily a penis. ---

When I was in school, I always felt like I was in jail, but Jesus Christ… I can’t help but feel sorry for the teacher though. This kind of thing doesn’t exactly look good on your resume. Note: Sodomy can also be with other appendages, like hands; not just the penis or other objects (I feel disgusted with myself for even mentioning it). ---

What the fucking HELL? I would never even have been able to conceive of such a thing at six! I shudder to think what that kid has been exposed to. As far as suing the school-the fact that the kids were there for forty-five minutes, and no one looked for them? What first graders are allowed to go to the bathroom for forty-five minutes without a teacher looking in to make sure they’re not goofing off? And school had ENDED and they still weren’t accounted for? Now, I’m not saying that it was the teacher’s fault, but damn, that wasn’t my experience when I was at school! I sure as hell hope they have DCF looking into the abuser’s situation. Kids do NOT commit sexual assault on other kids (at least not beyond playing doctor and “you show me your’s, I’ll show you mine”) at six fucking years old! :eek: ---

The following are a couple of definitions for Alaska: A. Forcible Rape-The carnal knowledge of a person, forcibly and/or against that person’s will; or not forcibly or against the person’s will where the victim is incapable of giving consent because of his/her temporary or permanent mental or physical incapacity (or because of his/her youth). B. Forcible Sodomy-Oral or anal sexual intercourse with another person, forcibly and/or against that person’s will; or not forcibly against the persons will where the victim is incapable of giving consent because of his/her youth or because of his/her temporary or permanent mental or physical incapacity. C. Sexual Assault With An Object-The use of an object or instrument to unlawfully penetrate, however slightly, the genital or anal opening of the body of another person, forcibly and/or against that person’s will; or not forcibly or against the person’s will; where the victim is incapable of giving consent because of his/her youth or because of his/her temporary or permanent mental or physical incapacity. D. Forcible Fondling-The touching of the private body parts of another person for the purpose of sexual gratification, forcibly and/or against that person’s will; or, not forcibly or against the person’s will where the victim is incapable of giving consent because of his/her youth or because of his/her temporary or permanent mental incapacity. So it would appear that forcible sodomy includes oral sex. I’ve always been under the impression that sodomy was anal sex, but my old Webster’s says differently. ---

The standard Biblical and common-usage definition corresponds to your impression, but the legal definition, which evidently influenced Mr. Webster’s heirs and assigns, includes oral sex. (And usually not merely forcible but also statutory, much the same as with rape.) ---

Could it be the fact that we have the highest per capita alcoholism, abuse, drug abuse rates in the country? That is, because of those things, kids get exposed to stuff they shouldn’t at an early age? But yeah, I was disgusted by the bobbit wannebe story too. Bob and Mark (local shock jocks) were having a heyday with it. I thought “damn, that’s not funny at all, it’s gross, and shocking”. ---

I told him to put it away, and that was that. If it happened today and I told a teacher, it would be sexual assault. I’ve recently seen the guy, and he’s not a rapist to the best of my knowledge.
