Oh god. I’m miserable. I have a nasty, hacking cough that leaves me feeling breathless every five minutes, an aching sore throat and a sense of lassitude that makes me feel as if I could sleep all day. Feh on winter. We should enter into negotiations with mother nature in return for an agreement to shorten winter by at least six weeks. ---

My life sucks so much that I wish I hadn’t given up drinking. I know that drinking alone at home in the middle of the afternoon is wrong but I want to do it anyway. ---

Given how long a termination notice period the average landlord expects to get (60 days), that seems a decent amount of time to find a roommate. You aren’t tied to your co-tenant’s decision at any rate, but I’d ask him to re-up if he’s on the fence and then if he needs out, he needs to give you a couple of months’ notice. Him “making good” on a deal/arrangement seems to me to be something you shouldn’t feel guilty about, since that implies he owed you something. ---

Massive chronic pain issues last week wore me down. Now I have a bad cold and am utterly exhausted. Came in to work today to find my co-worker called in sick - he was fine yesterday. Stupidly, that means I end up working a 9 hour day today to cover. Tomorrow I’m staying home to rest. ---

I have several larger rants, but for tonight…I made a somewhat labor-intensive version of meatloaf, which we were really looking forward to, in a Pyrex casserole dish. Put it onto my ceramic stovetop when it was done and the damn dish exploded. Glass and grease everywhere. My 3 y.o. was right next to the stove, too. We’re fine, but I’m still a bit shaken, and just irritated in general. It’s hard to keep a baby and toddler occupied when cooking, and the entire effort was wasted. My other half kindly picked up Long John Silver’s, which I usually have a weakness for, but I just had no appetite. ---

Turns out it’s the American made stuff from the last 20 years or so that’s exploding. It’s not made of borosilicate (like what’s used in labs) anymore, unless you get it from Europe. Apparently Corning no longer supervises the manufacture; it just leases the brand name, or some such. I’m tossing my other Pyrex bakeware. ☹ I’ll keep the mixing bowls I have, though. I’ve a big whitehead or something on my nose near the crease where the nostril meets the face. It’s pushing onto a nerve and it’s really sore and I CAN’T PICK IT. Grrr. More tea tree oil. It seems to be at least bringing the infection to a head. ---

I’m so peeved. Timesheets apparently show up on the boss’s radar even if I haven’t “submitted” it. So she approved mine…but I get paid hourly and I haven’t put in my hours yet! She didn’t even bother to check it. She is flighty and dumb already. Seriously, you couldn’t even just glance at the hours? Now we have to get it fixed, today, or I won’t get paid properly. Grr… ---

Yes, after doing a bit of research, I believe what I have is not a pimple, but a boil, and that’s pretty much what is recommended. I’ll probably still call it a pimple, though. It’s not ready to do anything yet. I’m not picking, although it’s driving me crazy that I can’t clean the sucker out.
