So I’ve jumped on the Omega 3 bandwagon. I’m using [this](http://www.theratears.com/nutrition.htm) brand for some eye issues (and hopefully cardio health). Simply put…I get the nasty fishy burps. I take these after eating breakfast…I also have tried the Sams Club version of the Omega 3 complex with the same fishy burp. I’ve read that keeping the capsules in the freezer helps. Any truth to that…or does anyone else have suggestions in this area? Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrp. 😉 ---

Parsley. Chew a sprig or two. If it can take away the nasty odour of old garlic, it will do wonders for a measly fish-breath. If it doesn’t work, I promise to refund the cost of a bunch of parsley. In AUD…minus postage. 😛 😃 ---

I anxiously await answers to this question. I have bought fish oil capsules to try to systemically treat my problem with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, but only took them for two days because I can’t stand the burps. It’s worse than dealing with MGD! ---

Switch to [flax seed oil](http://www.1001herbs.com/flaxseedoil/). Although [this guy](http://www.mercola.com/2004/jul/21/flax_seed_oil.htm#) apparently disagrees that flax seed oil is all that good, which is something I hadn’t heard before. Meh. Flax seed oil doubles as a deep hot oil treatment for my hair; I don’t think I’d want to try that with fish oil. ---

I take 'em at night, right before bed and never have a problem. I also keep 'em in the fridge as they can go rancid if your house isn’t cool enough. ---

Another friend suggested trying to eat them BEFORE a meal. I think I’ll try before dinner (which is a bigger meal than breakfast for me). I’ll also keep them in the freezer…which supposedly helps. Apparently there are some brands that have an enteric coating, so they supposedly disolve in the small intestine instead of the stomache. (They’re also more expensive) ---

The extra couple of bucks is well worth it to me - I _hate_ the taste of fish and would probably vomit if I ever had a fish oil burp. Also, I take all of my pills at night, right before I go to bed. ---

I was going to ask about fish-oil _farts_, but then I re-read the bottle and realized I’m supposed to be swallowing them.
