Well, my fave extreme fishing program is _Extreme Fishing with Robson Greene_. He’s a Geordie actor/singer who loves fishing and the programmes all have him going around the world catching (or failing to catch) all sorts of fish. And he’s really, really enthusiastic about it all! Some of the [full programs are on youtube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vInY73IA9os) I’ve linked to the 1st episode of season 3 - I think the earlier series were better, but I couldn’t see them there. ---

Personally I don’t get to fish much but I enjoy it when I do go. I cannot stand fishing shows. They are boring…especially when the star fisherman of the show will land a whopper and then put it back in the water with some statement like,“get along there…boy …we’ll catch you again”, What? I would keep that fish and have him frying later that night. However…I am normal. These fishermen on these shows do not even have the nerve to keep their catch…they are sooooo “whipped” by political correctness. ---

They should keep fish even though they will go to waste? Catch and release is extremely common among people who fish for recreation. There are perfectly valid reasons to practice it that have nothing to do with “political correctness”. (The primary one being conservation of stock.) ---

This jack hole went down into the sticky gooey quicksandy glue like mud of a tidal flat/swamp/morass… you get the point, down there with the bugs, the poison snakes, the caymans, the bugs, the tide coming in, and more bugs. Dude! It’s muddy and it’s really sticky icky mud, and there’s bugs and snakes and gator like critters, and the tide’s coming in and there’s bugs and shit. Aw fuck it. Partway through the show I was hoping the snakes, or the tide, or the stiky mud or the bugs would get his stupid ass. Reality? That’s not reality, that’s stupidity. ---

I’m not the person to debate with as to whether fish feel pain in a similar way to mammals. I was merely objecting to **bullrun** ’s characterization of catch and release.
