It’s funny, I started this thread because the paltry research that she did said that the investment wasn’t really worth it, and that it was basically a glorified pedometer. But now that I see how much everyone here loves it I think we are going out and getting one this weekend!

I have the Withings Pulse and I’m very happy with it. It does sleep tracking, steps, altitude and has a built in pulse monitor. There are external scales and BP monitors that you can buy that will also report to your account.

The app keeps some pretty basic information handy and the online site allows for a lot more information and reporting on all the data collected.

It also integrates with a couple of food tracking sites so you can see your (self input) calories next to your weight and exercise trends.

My husband lost his in December last year and we found it again in March after the snow melted off a section of the driveway. It still works perfectly.

Wow that’s awesome!

Congrats and keep it up!

That specific model was recalled by the manufacturer due to some users experiencing skin rashes/sensitivity to whatever compound is used in that model. As i mentioned, I have the FitBit Flex which was not recalled and I’d assume uses a different composition. I’ve never had a problem with the Flex and as soon as they reintroduce the FitBit Force I’ll probably upgrade to one.

> I have a jawbone UP, and I prefer it to my previous fitbit experience. I find it’s mostly accurate in terms of steps. The alarm wakes me easily and I particularly like two things - the “powernap” mode and the ability to set a reminder to get up and move every so often. I have a desk job, so I have it set to vibrate at 45 minutes of inactivity. With that, I’ll get up and go for a walk - around the office or the building, depending on how much time I have just then.

> This is actually my third band, fwiw. Two were replaced under warranty. Though it says you can wear it in the shower, I’d recommend against that - I think that’s what killed the first one, and the second one just died one day. The company was great about replacing though. I’ve been using the band for a little over a year at this point (I think 🙂 )

The Jawbone Up24 is the band I’d almost decided to set my heart on, so this review interests me. If anyone else has one I’d love to hear more about it.
