Fitness gurus: when am I going to lose weight?

I wasn’t going to post because all I’m doing is nodding in agreement and saying, “Yes, me too” to every post, but I think this needs to be addressed. I don’t know that you necessarily have to cut out alcohol completely, but you do need to know how many calories you’re taking in from it. Is it a light beer? Wine? A mixed drink? If you’re drinking a mixed drink with non-diet soda (not that artificial sweeteners are healthy), you’re adding several hundred empty calories. If you’re drinking three of them, you could be adding half your daily allowance in empty calories, which is way too high.

Figure out what you’re taking in, then decide if it’s acceptable or find a less calorific alternative. Or maybe cut down a bit.

I’m glad you’ll be tracking your food intake. I was shocked when I did mine. Not by how much I was eating, but how little I really needed! It was depressing, but I’ve made a lot of adjustments and have found a workable plan (including exercise) that allows me to blow some calories on fun stuff. For you it’s a drink or two, for me it’s ice cream. Life would suck if I couldn’t have ice cream once or twice a week!
