Awww. Have a heart. Anyone w/a brain knows this isn’t a punny situation. Eye’d have fingered y’all to have known better. BUt ear’s the tooth, eye don’t have the stomach for this kind of thing. eye think eye kneed to sit down.
(A friend of mine who lives 2 miles away from this guy claims it’s really a quiet, nice town that I should visit.

Which, **wring** Gainesville? _gag_ Most people I know here are dying to finish their degrees so they can leave. But it takes all kinds, I guess.
As a sad commentary on my own awareness of local issues, this guy is at the university I attend, and yet, I first hear about this on the SDMB. Geez.

I especially like the part where the spokesman notes that the school hadn’t given him permission to take home body parts.
I think you KNOW that you’ve made it as a scientist if your school DOES give you permission to take home body parts.
And wouldn’t THAT permission slip be a real conversation piece? Suitable for framing, too.

The questions I had:
What possible research could he have done at home that he couldn’t do at work?
How does one take such “work” home? “This arm? Not to worry, my dear man, I just need to finish up some research at home tonight.”
Is he so overworked he cannot complete such research at the office?
At least the university fired him. I could see the headline, “Gainesville neurologist on paid leave following…”

At my old job, we had dead warblers in the freezer for necropsy, each individually wrapped in foil (I remember: it was the day I had chicken for lunch). And I had a couple of dead pelican under my desk for a day, waiting for the UPS guy to pick them up for shipping. But my boss knew they were there; in fact, he put them there.
I’m just wondering how the Tupperware people are putting a spin on this. I’ll bet they’re wishing he used Rubbermaid instead.

I had a dead Barn Owl and a dead marmoset (road kills) in my freezer for quite a while.
