I can’t believe I watched the whole thing.
I was excited when I first heard about it. I always equated Flash Gordon with swashbuckling adventure on another world. There was another world… that looked just like Vancouver, but there was nary a swash to be buckled.
And what the Fuck was up with Zarkov?
Charlie Tan and others: you’re so far on this side of the line, but only just barely. Evil Captor’s fantasies and sexual taste are not the topic of conversation here, for a couple of reasons:
(1) This forum is Cafe Society, we discuss the subject matter, we do not discuss each other.
(2) Discussion of Evil Captor’s fetishes have been done to death. Many posters have particular “hot buttons,” ranging from G.W.Bush to Lord of the Rings. We draw the line when a poster is a one-trick pony, who can ONLY post about their one topic; Evil Captor does not fall into that category, and he is entitled to his likes and dislikes, same as everyone else. If you think that he (or anyone) has turned into a single-topic poster, then the appropriate response is to email a Moderator, and we’ll investigate (again.)
I suppose someone reported my post.
With all respect, Dex,
If my post upset you, I apologize, EC.
I completely agree. At first I thought it was Lexa Doig, but once I got a good look at her, I realized I was wrong. A shame, really, 'cause she’s one of my favorite actresses.
I actually started laughing every time they introduced another female character… and it was another brunette. It got a bit ridiculous after a while- I kinda wonder if it was done on purpose.
Man, that show sucked. I hate it when someone does a remake of a movie/show that I used to like… and completely ruin it.
Just to clarify, Charlie, your post and several others by several other people, were on the acceptable side of the line, but seemed to be getting very close to it. I just wanted to stop the conversation from going further that way. No harm, no foul. I didn’t record anything about it, because I thought you were appropriate, but I was worried about things sliding in a direction they’ve gone before. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
