Not that I’m jealous of posters whose threads _don’t_ float like bricks, but here’s what a couple of us had to say a couple of days ago:

Those of us who didn’t apply ourselves in college because we preferred to screw around having fun are greatly chagrined to realize that applying ourselves in college was the path to screwing around having fun _on government and private grant money_. Who knew? But mostly I’m envious of that other research program that _still_ hasn’t been made public, but will someday answer the question, “If we could put a man on the moon, and we can get dolphins to whistle the TV _Batman_ theme, when are we going to teach our _dogs_ to play _poker_?”
I mean, come on. Road trip, Las Vegas, with puppies. _That’s_ science, baby!
