We got a new\* Superintendent who’s a total fucking fascist is why. I mean, I’d dress it up, but that’s the reason. \*he’s no longer new, but he was at that time ---

I’ve been in situations a hell of a lot more dangerous than this woman CHOOSE to put herself and her child in and came unscathed, so yes, some of us can say absolutely how we would fare in this situtation. We wouldn’t have made so many positively stupid decisions about personal safety. It’s sad the kid died though with a mother as stupid as the one she had, it was only a matter of time. At least, she didn’t trade the girl for a handfull of magic beans. (Or maybe that detail has yet to be published). ---

As for custody of the surviving children, I’d have to know more about her general history as a parent and her overall decision-making ability and level of responsibility.
