Maybe ‘The black felons are voting’ That’s the type of dog whistle that gets them to the polls anyway.
No no no. “black felons” isn’t a dog whistle, it’s a damn air-raid siren. The dog-whistle is that “felons” is code for Democrats. Please try to keep up, there’s a quiz on Friday.
Quotas, seriously? Who on earth thought THAT was a good idea?
Hey, you quota somebody cuz that’s-a whatta they say! Getta you toosie-frootsie ice cream…
I’m trying to see if anyone can back up this story. I saw it on the Rachel Maddow show, so I wanted another viewpoint. Not that I don’t trust her, but I’m worried about an overly optimistic spin.
Anyways, Maddow said that apparently in 5 key swing states, I remember seeing Nevada, Colorado, Florida, and North Carolina, SAC was the only company contracted by the GOP to do voter registration. Now that they’ve cut ties with the company, the GOP has essentially no voter registration in those 5 swing states. For some states, the deadline to register is in about a week, for others in about 2 weeks.
Can this be true? I want to believe it and think the GOP’s going to miss out on weeks of important registration, but how easy would it be for the GOP to get some registration going really quick? They can’t really have stopped all registration in those states can it? And even so, couldn’t they get some offices, a few tables, and a bunch of volunteers with clipboards going like, tomorrow? I bet they’re working on it right now as I type. Or is this going to be a huge huge advantage for the Obama campaign? I don’t even know, at this point, how much voter registration can affect a campaign
I wouldn’t know exactly where to look to get data on that. Seems likely that the party who has the most voters already on board and registered would be the party that would benefit most from limiting voter registration as much as possible. Clearly, the Republican Party believes that most of its power rests upon voters already registered, any new influx of voters is more likely to dilute their power than to enhance it.
