In my monitor, that tie looks almost pink. Would it be less sexist to imagine it as a penis pointing up toward a vagina? Well, or an asshole, or a glory hole for that matter. ---

Hogwash. There are plenty of professional environments where you are judged on your ability to perform the job rather than your ability to tie a Windsor knot. If it makes you feel more important to be seen before or after work at the grocery store or picking up your kids in a suit and tie, if you think people are looking at you and thinking you’re important because of the way you dress, knock yourself out. Just don’t project your need to look like something out of Mad Men on the rest of us. And don’t be like the sales weasel who came to see me this week. He saw me in jeans and said “Oh, I guess it’s casual Monday.” Oh, I guess your appointment just got cut to five minutes, genius. Bye-bye now. As for the campaign slogan, it’s boring and ugly. ---

Or you can just let people wear what they are comfortable with and not be a jerk about it. We stopped having different drinking fountains for whites and colored decades ago, why should be continue to dress like we’re in some Mad Men fantasy club? As long as its not obscene, I think employees should be allowed to wear what they want for comfort. I am much happier and comfortable, and get more work done, on Fridays when I can wear sneakers and cargo pants and a T-shirt ---

I work in an very conservative industry and by that I mean Obama jokes are very common but I’ve never heard Obongo before and it took me a couple of read throughs to understand what he was aiming for. On the plus side his post was much funnier the first time I read it as Oingo Boingo. ---
