To answer the OP, I guess you guys may have a point, in brushing after flossing. However, I’ve always done it the other way and my dentist told me to keep on doing what I’ve been doing. The rinse should take care of any particles left. I, also, however, use a gum stimulator after flosing, which picks up additional particles. I may try it the other way, anyway.
Another question that may be another post is why do they make toothbrushes with medium and hard bristles? Every one should use soft bristles to prevent gum erosion. In addition, brushing for 5 minutes as one poster said he was doing, can also erode the gums.
I floss first, brush second. I figured getting the crap lodged between my teeth out before brushing them was a good idea, now I have the additional justification of breaking up the bacterial networks forming below the gumline.
Of course, the way I took care of my teeth in my twenties, I’m freakin’ surprised I only had to have one cavity filled… :eek:
