AA’s not the only airline with this policy, but I have to say that this fact, in my experience, is always mentioned, either in the e-mail confirmation you get or on the Print page confirmation that comes out right after you book online. Even if you book on the phone, I’ve found the sales rep always mentions this as well. Sorry about your experience CRorex, but I’m inclined to believe there was some small print involved somewhere…
