I think this has gone far enough? In what direction? In what way? This aint MPSIMS. Holy shit! If you don’t like how it’s going why not give a little direction rather than just shutting it down? IIRC you closed your first Pit thread about 40 seconds after being announced as a Mod. There are other options other than the nuclear one, and you would do well to avail yoursel of them. This is pathetic. ---

Oh man! That wasn’t pathetic. That wasn’t the nuclear option… No. That closing was a mercy killing. Nothing more, nothing less. The only problem? We wants more bloodshed. Please re-open it! Give the Romans their entertainment! Wait, \*\*fluiddruid \*\*- come back. I can think of another reason: $$$! That thread makes good business sense. That thread was justifying re-subscriptions from countless Dopers on the edge of their computer seats waiting for the next blow. I know that thread alone paid for my subscription. Please? Pretty please? Shucks. ---

I agree, that thread closing was bullshit. What, CB is now protected by the mods from being Pitted? Or if it was his racist and dishonest conduct in the thread that made it ‘go too far’, why wasn’t he warned? ---

Inching toward boring, seemed to me. Now, if it’s entertainment you want, go look up any of **Aldebaran’s** pittings – both of and by our former star. Them’s some classic bloodbaths. 😃 ---

I’m only guessing, but I assume there’s some kind of email exchange between the mods and CB right now. Normally the mods seem pretty happy to keep open pit threads, but in this case rules of the board were actually being broken (no hate speech) so while it’s probably one of the most deserved pitting i’ve seen since i’ve been here (and CB’s posts added to hilarity…“Look, the tunnel has one end in the US, therefore it’s all in the US!!!”) I think the thread title may have been flawed, though - seems to me CB actually did believe what he/she was saying, sadly. More ignorant and close-minded than dishonest. ---

Correct me if i’m wrong, but surely if they went under the border fences, then they crossed the border? Unless the fences were not themselves on the border, of course, but I don’t see why that would be. How many at that particular point I don’t know. Also to the posters that ridicule me by saying a tunnel must have an entrance and an exit, there have been several incomplete tunnels discovered along the border. By incomplete, meaning they had one opening. Also I believe many mine tunnels have only one opening. Mirriam-Webster definition: 1 : a hollow conduit or recess : TUBE, WELL 2 a : a covered passageway; specifically : a horizontal passageway through or under an obstruction b : a subterranean gallery (as in a mine) ---

Whoops. I didn’t mean to provoke the old thread moving into this new one. While i’m in the camp that thinks it shouldn’t have been closed (well, until we hear from the mods and CB as to what’s happening) I really don’t think we should continue it in here - I think this thread’s just questioning why it was closed, and I’d imagine people wouldn’t want THIS one also closed for the same reasons. ---

The thread was closed as it HAD gone far enough, and moderators were discussing some potential violations. I saw the potential for re-opening but we wanted to discuss a multitude of post reportings and e-mails first. **CBEscapee** and **Revenant Threshold** , you have deliberately re-opened the issue after the thread has been closed. This is a formal warning – do not do this again. I’m closing this now hijacked thread. Feel free to re-open one if you want to discuss the closing, but this has already turned into a clone of the old thread.
