If such a thing as a popular personal flying commuter/leisure vehicle actually makes it to market, I think it’s likely to be an electric multi-rotor ‘drone’ type device.
In which case it doesn’t need to resemble a car. It doesn’t need wheels. Where we’re going Marty, we don’t need roads.

I love how they say “seats 4 people so you can take your family”.
Right! Airplanes are TINY. Very cramped with uncomfortable seats. And weight is an issue so better not have any family members weighing over 200 pounds and almost no room for luggage.
